Hotels, resorts and malls across Langkawi are embracing the year-end cheer with colourful, creative Christmas trees that light up the island in true festive spirit. After all, no Christmas celebration is complete without a magical tree at its heart.

Leading the sparkle this season is Mercure Langkawi Pantai Cenang, where guests are welcomed by a radiant Christmas tree glowing in red and white lights, complete with two charming reindeers. General manager Danny Yeo shared that this year’s traditional tree reflects their “back to basics” celebration of Christmas. The hotel located in the heart of Pantai Cenang is also offering a variety of F&B promotions to celebrate Christmas with family and friends.

Just a short distance away, Holiday Villa Langkawi is shining a light on sustainability with a Christmas tree crafted entirely from recycled materials, underscoring their commitment to caring for Mother Earth. The tree-lighting ceremony, led by general manager Wong Ai Lin and her management team, was witnessed by delighted in-house guests.

At Pelangi Beach Resort, the festive season kicked off with a grand tree-lighting celebration helmed by general manager Neoh Kean Boon and department heads. Guests were treated to lively performances by children from Q-Dee Langkawi, and Santa made a stylish entrance on a buggy escorted by two superbikes. As fine wine flowed and holiday music filled the air, guests mingled and soaked in the warm camaraderie. “Christmas at Pelangi is always a special time—a blend of tropical charm, beautiful moments and the joy of coming together,” Neoh remarked in his welcome address.

Over at PARKROYAL Langkawi Resort, a classic Christmas tree takes centre stage in the main lobby. General manager Au Yong Hin Yoong and his team hosted a cheerful reception as guests counted down to the tree lighting. Santa and his Santarinas made a joyful appearance, adding extra sparkle to the evening. The joy of Christmas was felt with a choir presenting several renditions of traditional favourites.

Across the mainland in Kedah, StarCity Hotel in Alor Setar has taken a creative route with a Christmas tree made from raffia strings, adorned with colourful lights to bring festive magic to the hotel’s lobby. Staff members worked hand-in-hand to bring the imaginative tree to life—an effort that general manager Eugene Dass proudly described as a true team project.
