China’s Spring Airlines launched its daily Shanghai–Kuala Lumpur Service to further enhance the tourism industry for Malaysia.
On hand to welcome the passengers and crew was Deputy Chairman of Tourism Malaysia, Dato’ Yeoh Soon Hin and his team.
“This daily service enhances direct connectivity with Eastern China and presents important opportunities for cultural exchange, tourism development and bilateral economic cooperation.
“The introduction of this route arrives at a pivotal moment for Malaysia’s tourism sector. From January to August 2025, Malaysia recorded 3.3 million Chinese visitors, representing a 27.5% increase compared with the same period in 2024 and approaching the 3.7 million total for 2024.
“The new service is expected to support continued growth in arrivals and to contribute positively to preparations for Visit Malaysia 2026.
“Gratitude is extended to Spring Airlines for reinstating the Shanghai–Kuala Lumpur connection. Appreciation is also conveyed to Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad, the Embassy of China, and all partners whose cooperation has enabled the launch of this route. Continued collaboration among airlines, airport authorities, and government agencies remains essential to sustain tourism recovery and to maximise mutual benefits,” said Yeoh in his press statement.
He also extended a warm welcome to passengers arriving on this inaugural flight and conveyed his best wishes and anticipated opportunities to showcase Malaysia’s culture, landscapes and hospitality while building enduring community and business links.
