Gurney Plaza has officially kicked off the most magical time of the year with the launch of its year-end celebration themed “Bear-y Bright Holidays at Gurney Plaza”! The mall’s central atrium came alive with sparkling lights, heart-warming decorations, and a delightful gathering of guests and media.
Gracing the colourful launch were Ms. Selina Ng, Head of Retail Malaysia; Peter Chan, General Manager of Mall Management; Tourism Malaysia Northern Region Director Abdul Hadi Che Man; together with VIPs and invited guests. In a joyful burst of confetti and falling snowflakes, the VIPs joined hands to unveil this year’s festive spectacular—accompanied by Wira and Manja, the adorable mascots of Visit Malaysia Year 2026.
Shoppers were treated to a dazzling sight: a 13-ft giant white snow bear, a 10-ft red rose bear, and an enchanting collection of plush bear displays, all beautifully wrapped in a theme of brown, white, and gold. Plenty of photo spots have also been set up for families and friends to capture the holiday magic.

Adding to the merriment, guests can look forward to appearances by the mall’s charming bear mascots—and of course, Santa Claus, who will be spreading cheer and handing out sweet treats to the little ones. To complete the whimsical experience, an enchanted snowfall will gently drift down the atrium, bringing the spirit of Christmas to life.
Shoppers can also anticipate the festive Christmas Markets, happening from December 5 to 7, 2025, along with an array of irresistible promotions. In conjunction with Tourism Malaysia’s 2025 Malaysia Year-End Sale campaign, visitors can enjoy discounts of up to 70%, exciting midnight sales, and attractive lucky draws.
This year, Gurney Plaza is thrilled to present its first and only collaboration with YSL Beauty in Malaysia, showcased at the Main Wing until January 4, 2026. Exclusive redemptions await shoppers, including treats from Polar Puffs & Cakes, Montigo bottles, and curated YSL Beauty gifts.
According to Peter Chan, this year’s celebration embraces timeless traditions and to usher in Visit Malaysia Year 2026. “We want to bring festive cheer to everyone—both locals and visitors—throughout this joyous season,” he shared.
