A spanking new management team is in place for the soon to be opened Mercure Miri City Centre in Sarawak.
They are led by well travelled general manager Todd Williams.
Hailing from Australia, Williams had travelled the world before coming to Miri. Among his stops were at hotels in Europe, United States and Asia.
Other unique destinations Williams had worked at are Russia, Osaka, Japan, London, Singapore, Bangkok, Geneva, Osaka, Beijing and in 2014, Sochi for the Winter Olympics.
Being a trained and qualified chef, during the COVID-19 pandemic and while working full time, Williams took on and completed a Swiss Master of Business Administration (MBA) to refine his knowledge and experience, completing it in December 2021.
Lending support are other heads of departments. They are Jeremy Liew ( IT Manager) Simon Lo (Financial Controller), Shan Ravendren (Executive Assistant Manager Rooms), Chew Pei Pei (Assistant Talent & Culture Manager, Jalaludeen Ariff (Director of Sales), Awangku Sazali (Chief Engineer), Clifford Cheah (Director of Culinary) and Jagjit Singh (Front Office Manager).
The Mercure Miri City Centre is expected to open its doors from Q3, 2022.
There are some 172-rooms with other facilities like all day dining, ballroom with daylight, rooftop bar and restaurant (on 15th floor) with pool and gym.
They offer their large co-working space which can accommodate 80 to 100 people and is available for daily, weekly, monthly or yearly basis.
