With the durian season currently underway in Penang, the influx of Chinese tourists to the island is timely.
More so when more and more China based Airlines are flying directly to the Penang International Airport.
The most recent being Juneyao Airlines flying from Pudong International Airport in Shanghai, China to Penang with effect May 31, 2024.
In line with this positive development, the Shangri-La Rasa Sayang Resort had invited six KOLs from China to showcase their facilities including their durian fare. They are from Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou.
The KOLs have a huge following on their local social media, Weibo back in China.
Meanwhile, the resort ‘s durian stall is situated opposite the resort and will cater the insatiable demand of durians by the Chinese tourists.

The resort has also prepared a special durian room package for these “durian hunters”.
A huge variety of delicious durians are available, namely, Musang King, Red Prawn, Black Thorn, D24, Black Pearl and more.
Among the Chinese Airlines already flying to Penang are China Southern Airlines, and Xiamen Airlines while Shenzhen Airlines is commencing its flights here next month.
Furthermore, the visa free travel for Chinese citizens travelling here have also greatly helped promote local tourism.
Also present in welcoming the group was area general manager, Markus Christ and Communications director Dato Suleiman Tunku Abdul Rahman and their respective team.
