The Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH), in collaboration with AVIS Malaysia, successfully concluded the 13th edition of its long-running annual treasure hunt on a high note on Saturday, July 12, 2025.

A total of 37 spirited teams embarked on a full-day, cross-state adventure from Kuala Lumpur to Perak, making it one of the most exciting and engaging editions to date.

The journey kicked off bright and early at AVIS Malaysia Headquarters, where participants—affectionately referred to as “Hunters”—set out to decode a series of mind-bending clues, riddles, checkpoints, and location-based challenges. The trail led them through scenic routes and cultural landmarks, culminating in a lively dinner and prize-giving ceremony at MH Hotel Ipoh.

“We want to give our members an opportunity to step out, connect, and create shared memories in a fresh and engaging setting,” said Ms. Shirley Lai, Organising Chairperson and MAH Vice President. “As hoteliers, we’re often the first touchpoint for visitors to Malaysia, and it’s vital that we possess in-depth knowledge of attractions not only in our own cities but throughout the country. This helps us better inform, guide, and inspire our guests to explore more of what Malaysia has to offer.”

In alignment with MAH’s commitment to community service, the event also included a meaningful charity component. A donation was presented to Pertubuhan Pengurusan Pusat Jagaan 1Malaysia, Perak, in support of the organisation’s ongoing mission to provide care for underprivileged children.

The closing dinner was officiated by YB Loh Sze Yee, Chairman of the Perak State Committee for Tourism, Industry, Investment and Corridor Development, who attended as Guest of Honour.

Also present were Datin Christina Toh, President of MAH, Andrew Ng, Marketing Manager of AVIS Malaysia, Datuk Mohd Odzman, President of the Perak Tourism Association, Muhammad Aminuddin, Director of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) Perak,  Tony Wong, Chairman of the MAH Perak Chapter along with several members of the MAH Board of Directors

MAH extends its sincere appreciation to all partners, participants, and stakeholders for making this year’s treasure hunt a memorable success. The association looks forward to exploring new destinations and delivering even more thrilling adventures in future editions.
