It was a timely corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative when Shangri-La’s Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa joined hands with the Penang Convention and Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) to fete underprivileged children at the Shan Children’s Home in Tanjung Tokong with a delicious lunch treat recently.
In all, a total of 30 youngsters each enjoyed a set meal specially prepared by the resort’s chefs, alongside Milo drinks.
Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa also donated hand-made masks made from surplus bed linen to the children.
The treat was initiated by PCEB, who pledged to use registration fees collected from the Business Events (BE) @ Penang 2020 conference last year for corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
RSR was delighted to be an event partner as the Shan Children’s Home has been their adopted orphans centre for the past seven years.
Gracing the occasion was Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa / Golden Sands Resort general manager Elaine Yue and Director of Sales, Sharul Madi, who helped distribute the lunch packs to the children.
Also present was PCEB Chief Executive Officer, Ashwin Gunasekaran.
