The Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) supports the call for a vaccination blueprint and a holistic distribution of vaccines.
The request was earlier made by Penang State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy, Yeoh Soon Hin.
“We hope that the Federal Government will heed pleas by industry players to prioritize tourism workers in the Covid-19 vaccination programme.
“The vaccine will definitely instill confidence in this time of pandemic and this is much needed to restart the tourism industry which is badly hit,” said MAH National Vice President Khoo Boo Lim in a press statement.
He also added that Malaysia has to be proactive in supporting the tourism industry so we could strategically position ourselves as a responsible destination which is important for both, domestic and international markets when we resume tourism activities.
“An effective vaccination programme that is inclusive of tourism players will significantly aid and ensure the industry’s survival and sustainability,” he said.
