In conjunction with the official opening of CruiseWorld Malaysia 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, Dato Sri Tiong King Sing, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia, today witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between StarCruises and Golden Destinations Group Berhad, marking a significant collaboration to further strengthen Malaysia’s cruise tourism sector.

Under the agreement, Golden Destinations will charter Star Voyager for a series of five special sailings from Port Klang during the December 2026 school holiday season, offering convenient 2 Night and 3 Night cruises to Phuket and Krabi, Thailand.

The charter programme reflects the growing demand for cruise holidays among Malaysian travellers while reinforcing Port Klang’s position as one of the region’s leading cruise hubs. By combining Golden Destinations’ extensive travel distribution network with StarCruises’ well-established cruise experience, the collaboration aims to make cruise holidays even more accessible to Malaysian families, leisure travellers, corporate groups and MICE travellers.

The five charter sailings will depart between 5 and 22 December 2026, offering a choice of 2 Night and 3 Night itineraries to Phuket and Krabi aboard Star Voyager.

Bookings for the Star Voyager charter cruises are now open through Golden Destinations’ nationwide network of travel partners and authorised agents. Early reservations are encouraged as demand is expected to be strong during the December school holiday period.
