Hailing from Alor Setar, Kedah, crooner Adam Matiin is quickly becoming one of the region’s most exciting emerging vocal talents.
Now based in Singapore, the singer has captivated audiences across borders with his soulful voice, magnetic stage presence, and a passion for music that transcends genres.
A versatile performer whose style blends Blues, Ballad, Jazz, and R&B, Adam cites Michael Bublé as one of his key inspirations.
Penang Hyperlocal caught up with Adam at the Olive Tree Hotel here recently where he was invited to perform for the hotel’s Malay Bridal Fair entitled “Dua Hati Bersatu”.
Being able to sing in eight languages, he also rendered several songs to entertain guests who had gathered there.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Music from the prestigious Akademi Seni Budaya dan Warisan Kebangsaan (ASWARA), he brings both technical mastery and heartfelt emotion to every performance. His career highlights include – Winner of the TOP 100 Calpis Soda One In A Million 2024 (TV3 Singing Competition) – a major national platform that spotlights Malaysia’s top vocalists, Champion of the ISing Singing Competition 2023, where he proudly represented Singapore at the World Championship, competing against singers from 25 countries, Debut Single: Launched his first single “Hey Lady… From Me” with a showcase in 2021, Latest Single: Released “Detak Cinta” in 2024, accompanied by a highly acclaimed showcase.
He has performed live for numerous events in Singapore too, among them being guest artist at the Esplanade Concert Hall, Singapore (2024) – one of the region’s most iconic performance venues, performed for Sultan Kedah, Sultanah Kedah, and VVIPs during the Majlis Pemasyhuran Kolej Sultan Sallehuddin, Invited performer at the MIFF International Private Dinner at MITEC Kuala Lumpur (March 2025), entertaining an exclusive audience of 2,000 international VIPs, New Year’s Eve 2025: Headlined “The Show Must Go On” at Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast, Christmas 2024: Special Guest Artist at Hilton Hotel, Petaling Jaya for the event “Christmas Music With Us.”
Adam was also interviewed on Mediacorp Warna 942 (Singapore) in “Kembara Muzik Bersama Adam Nordin.” He was also named Brand Ambassador for Hotel Frazel Heritage, Kedah (2024).
He holds a Bachelor’s in Music from ASWARA, Malaysia’s leading arts university. He is a music Instructor at Aureus Academy, Singapore, where he has nurtured young talents for over three years.
Looking ahead, Adam has his sights set on an even bigger stage — New York City. With plans to relocate to the U.S. to further his singing career, he is poised to bring his uniquely Southeast Asian artistry to an international audience.
