Penang’s hospitality scene welcomes a familiar face into a new leadership role as Ms Chan Phei Ling takes on the position of Director of Operations at Hotel NEO+ Penang.
Chan, who has built her career in the hotel industry through a strong sales and marketing background, is no stranger to Penang’s hospitality landscape.
Over the years, she has served with several hotels in the state, gaining valuable experience and industry insight along the way.
Her latest appointment sees her taking on a wider operational role after serving as Director of Sales & Marketing at Hotel NEO+ Penang.
The move marks an interesting new chapter for Chan, bringing her sales expertise and knowledge of the local hotel market into a role that encompasses the broader day-to-day operations of the property.
With hospitality being very much a people-driven business, Chan’s experience in building relationships, understanding market needs and working closely with hotel teams will be valuable as she takes on her new responsibilities.
In her new role, Chan will report to General Manager Dato Gulab Mahatam Rai on matters concerning sales and operations, working alongside the hotel’s management team to support the property’s continued growth and service standards.
Gulab too is a well experienced hotelier with working experience with several local and foreign brands. Namely, he had served in Vietnam, Sri Lanka and the Caribbean Islands. He is also the Vice Chairman of the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) Penang Chapter.
Away from the hotel, Chan prefers the simple pleasures of life, spending quality time with her family and friends whenever her busy schedule allows.
