Music lovers & nightlife patrons are set for a nostalgic journey through the golden eras of clubbing as Club Roots presents “Once in a Blue Moon”, happening this Sunday, 31 May at BLUE & Sky51, located at EQ Kuala Lumpur.
Powered by EQ, the event brings together five iconic DJs who helped shape Malaysia’s nightlife scene across the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s — delivering an unforgettable reunion party high above the Kuala Lumpur skyline.
Headlining the night are legendary selectors Phat Fabes, Sheela, OJ, Robert Mah & Adrian G., each bringing their signature sound and decades of dancefloor experience to the decks.
One of the evening’s special highlights will be the appearance of Sheela, one of the original DJs from the iconic Blue Moon at Hotel Equatorial Kuala Lumpur — a venue remembered fondly by many as one of the city’s most celebrated nightlife destinations during its heyday.
Hosted by radio personality and entertainer, Phat Fabes, “Once in a Blue Moon” promises a carefully curated soundtrack of classics, disco anthems, soulful grooves, & sing-along favourites that defined an unforgettable era of nightlife culture in Malaysia.
Guests can expect three unique party spaces throughout the night, with music flowing from BLUE to the Sky51 terrace and VIP upper deck, creating an immersive experience with breathtaking city views.
According to Event Director RF, the event is more than just a party, it is a celebration of memories, friendships, & the music that brought generations together.
“Club Roots has always been about reconnecting people through music and nostalgia. “Once in a Blue Moon” is a tribute to the golden days of clubbing in Kuala Lumpur & the DJs who created those
magical nights. We wanted to recreate that atmosphere again, classy, uplifting, & full of great memories,” said RF.

The event begins from 7PM onwards on Sunday, 31 May 2026, at BLUE and Sky51, EQ Kuala Lumpur.
