In a continued commitment to community welfare and healthcare support, the Lions Club of George Town, through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, donated essential medical equipment to the Paediatric Oncology Ward at Penang General Hospital.
The delegation was led by the club’s president, Dato Gulab Mahatam Rai, alongside members of the Lions Club team.
Receiving the contribution on behalf of the hospital was Penang General Hospital Director Dr Goh Hin Kwang and his staff.
The contribution included two units of the MindRay BeneFusion iVP Infusion Pump and one unit of the MindRay VS-600 Digital Pulse Oximeter, aimed at enhancing the quality of care and treatment for young cancer patients at the ward. The total value of the donation is RM10,300.

This latest contribution reflects the club’s ongoing dedication to supporting healthcare services, having previously donated two units of Breas Vivo 3 BIPAP ventilators last year.
Also present in support of the initiative were Club Secretary Lion Anthony Chow, Lion Por Chun Hau, Lion Tan Kheng Liat, Lion Ricky Khoo and Lion Dato’ Seri Lawrence Cheah.
Gulab is well known for his active involvement in charitable causes across Penang. Most recently, he served as organising chairman of the Marriott International Charity Golf event, which successfully raised RM30,000 to benefit UNICEF and Pertubuhan Rumah Kebajikan Seri Cahaya Pulau Pinang.
He is also the general manager of Lone Pine, Penang.
