For the very first time, Penang Marriott Hotel presents a Ramadan buffet dinner showcasing the best of Malaysian and Indonesian cuisine, available from 23 February to 19 March 2026.

Titled “A Journey Through Nusantara Flavours”, this dining experience celebrates the rich and diverse culinary heritage of the Nusantara region, offering guests an exploration of time-honoured recipes and regional specialities.

Guests will be able to savour the best of both worlds of Malaysia and Indonesia cuisine.

This exclusive promotion is a collaboration between Penang Marriott Hotel and Yogyakarta Marriott Hotel, bringing together distinctive flavours and authentic culinary traditions for a truly immersive gastronomic journey.

At the heart of this collaboration are Chef Nor Ismail, Head Chef of Penang Marriott Hotel, and Chef Fauzan Evantoro, Chef de Cuisine of Yogyakarta Marriott Hotel. Together, they will showcase their expertise in traditional Indonesian cuisine, blending authentic flavours, refined techniques, and deep cultural influences to elevate the dining experience.

Designed for both local and international guests, the buffet offers a well-balanced selection from appetisers to main courses and desserts.

The journey begins with light yet flavourful appetisers inspired by Nusantara traditions, featuring a Satay Station and Rojak Buah, delivering vibrant and refreshing regional tastes that awaken the palate.

The highlight of the experience lies in the signature main dishes, including slow-cooked specialities and seafood selections at the Roast Delights Station, From the Tureen, and Crisp & Crunch Seafood Station. These are complemented by aromatic rice dishes such as Nasi Padang and hearty favourites rooted in Indonesian and Malay culinary traditions.

A special showcase of five unique dishes further enhances the experience: Gudeg, a slow-cooked jackfruit stew served with seasoned duck egg, spicy krecek, and tender chicken, Rawon Sapi, a traditional East Javanese beef soup renowned for its rich, black, nutty broth, Tahu Tek, a classic Surabaya street dish featuring rice cakes and fried tofu, Es Palu Butung, a delightful Makassar dessert topped with shaved ice and fragrant crimson syrup and Wedang Ronde, crushed ice with handmade glutinous rice balls filled with crushed peanuts

To conclude the feast, the dessert selection delivers a nostalgic yet refined finale. Cake Bites, Sweet Temptations, and an assortment of kuih-muih are inspired by traditional Southeast Asian sweets, recreated with sophisticated textures and balanced sweetness.
