Penang Deputy Chief Minister II YB Jagdeep Singh Deo held his Chinese New Year open house at the Taman Free School field where more than 1,500 people gathered.

Guest of honour was Penang Chief Minister YAB Chow Kon Yeow along with Penang Mayor Dato A Rajendran among others. 

In his address, Chow congratulated Jagdeep for organising such a grand celebration. He also added that the people are the backbone of their administration in Penang. 

“With your support we will do our very best for the people. Meanwhile, based on investment figures for Penang in 2024 as reported by MITI, we have achieved 32 Billion. We can see the benefits of this investment in the state,” he added that they will also focus on infrastructure projects too 

Community and industry leaders were also present at the dinner celebration. 

Jagdeep in his address said that he is pleased to host the CNY celebrations this year again.

“I also wish to thank the constituents for their support and  continuous well wishes.

“We have several projects for this area in the pipeline soon. Our residents here are getting old and we are mindful of providing the necessary facilities for them,” said Jagdeep.

A long list of stalls offering various local dishes were available for guests where entertainment included Chinese and Malay numbers.
