The Penang Pink Ladies group held their annual Penang Pink Ladies brunch at the E&O Hotel’s grand ballroom where some 200 supporters and well-wishers gathered.
They gathered for a deserving cause to raise funds for the Mount Miriam Cancer Hospital and Penang Hospice Society.
This is the 16th annual Penang Pink Ladies brunch where donors, supporters and well-wishers gathered for a morning of camaraderie and fundraising.
Clad in their striking pink and rosette outfits, the gathering took on a carnival atmosphere. They also took part in the online silent auction, raffles draw and a tombola to raise funds.
Judging from the turnout, this fundraising event was a huge success, thanks to the dedication and hard work of the main organisers, Ms Tiina Luckins, Ms Susie Macmillan and Ms Jennifer Sheppard.
Guests were also entertained by Mel Hitosis Raphenon supported by her fabulous dancers, which brought a party mood.
The E&O team also decorated their ballroom fit for the occasion with the colours of pink highlighted throughout the hall. Guests were treated to a fine brunch buffet as they enjoyed the music and songs.
The event featured favourites such as the fashion parade by Doublewoot and Amee Philips, choreographed by committee member, Diana Brown.
The emcee for the event, Moe Nasrul was back by popular demand while guest speaker from Hong Kong, educator and cancer survivor, Colleen Osborne, shared her personal journey of overcoming cancer and left the audience with an inspiring message – ‘never forget how strong you are.’
This year also marked the Penang Pink Ladies’ inaugural 5km ‘Pink Walk for Cancer,’ which took
place last month. More than 450 walkers in the walk.
Meanwhile, the Penang Pink Ladies remain committed to their mission of raising awareness and funds to support individuals in Penang challenged with cancer.
