Penang State Exco for Housing, Local Government, Town and Country Planning, YB Jagdeep Singh Deo was on a familiarization trip to the Republic of Singapore.
He met Singapore’s Senior Minister at the Ministry of National Development, Mr Tan Kiat How and the Singapore Housing Development Board.
He also had the opportunity to visit the Marina Barrage in Singapore to see their water management and flood mitigation methods.
“Our Housing Agenda will continue to ensure the delivery of Affordable Homes (AH) to Penangites. We also look at other countries such as Singapore to learn new programmes.
“I am happy to have held a very useful meeting to share best practices in terms of Urban Regeneration, delivery of Public Housing and Legal issues so that we can further move forward.
“Upon my return, I will again be going to Putrajaya to meet with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Law to discuss and finalise certain issues where delivery of Affordable Housing is concerned for everyone.
