There was “friendly rivalry” at the bowling tournament organised by the Malaysian Association of Hotels (Penang Chapter) at the Sunshine Bowling Centre in Bayan Baru earlier today.
It was the first time after the lockdown that such a tournament had been held to forge camaraderie and sporting spirits among the staff and employees of the hospitality industry here.
Lending support was MAH Penang Chapter chairman Tony Goh along with MAH National vice president Dato Khoo Boo Lim along with other committee members.
After several rounds of intense competition, the team from the G Hotel Gurney and Kelawai were big winners as they walked away as the champions scoring 1874 points and also won the 2nd runner-up title.
Meanwhile, the Hard Rock Hotel Penang emerged as the 1st runners-up.
As for the solo competition, Vivian Foo (G Hotel) was the Best Female bowler winning RM300 cash prize and Afendi Ajis was the Best Male Bowler.
“Despite who won or lost, it was a meaningfulĀ gathering as we managed to gather for the bowling tournament after such a longĀ time. We also hope to host sporting events to foster fellowship among the industry players,” said Goh.
