Penang-based Teratak Spa is going places, they have already expanded to the capital city of Kuala Lumpur.

And come next year 2023, they hope to expand their reach to another 10 more outlets throughout the country.

This will also be followed by expanding to neighbouring countries in the ASEAN region.

What is unique about their brand is that they only employ local therapists at their outlets and practise traditional Malaysian treatments.

They offer an authentic Malaysian- style experience with their packages.

Teratak Spa founder, Puan Liz Othman comes with many years of experience in the industry.

“I had my early start with Digi Telecoms along with my beauty products since 1996. At that time, I operated in Bayan Lepas and later  diversified into the spa business.

“My focus is to promote an authentic Malaysian brand of spa services which emcomposes local heritage, culture and tradition.

“Our guests are greeted in our local tradition and we also use many local products for all our packages.

“As far as our therapists are concerned, we work closely with local colleges like GIAT Mara, Vocational schools and other related establishments. The team also has a say in our operations and can suggest new ideas and suggestions to improve our business,” said Liz.

Their current outlet in KL is at the Seri Pacific Hotel and is doing brisk business.

Teratak Spa was also appointed and recognised by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) under the “Urutan Malaysia” category in 2017.

“However, when the Covid-19 pandemic hit us, I had to resort to giving talks and coaching sessions online. The response was good and I also managed to pursue some 50 international courses related to this industry.

“Among them was being a business coach under the Institut Keusahawanan Negara (INSKEN). At that time, we also managed to sell spa vouchers which received good response,

“My vision now is to help produce more young entrepreneurs in this industry and assist them to make a career and manage their business,” added Liz.

Syabas to Teratak Spa and its founder, Liz Othman for venturing forward in the challenging spa industry.
