Those who still remember the popular former Carmen’s Inn at the Bayview Hotel Georgetown will be delighted to know it has reopened under a new name.
This time around it has reopened as the W Plus Penang which offers a live band and deejay spinning top hits.
Around the vicinity of the hotel is the Upper Penang Road area where the hive of activity for partygoers in the year 2002 onwards.
Moving forward, W Plus Penang features popular retro deejay Raj is back at the club at the deejay console playing Canto hits, House, Techno and other commercial numbers.
Those who are familiar with the deejay scene will recall DJ Raj who was among the pioneer deejays playing at the Carmen’s Inn days.
“Back then, it was the Retro, R & B and Top 40s which were popular with party goers. Now I play a lot of new numbers along with Mandarin songs too,” added Raj.
“The club also offers four electronic dart boards and soon they will also install a pool table”, added outlet manager, Kent Lim.
Then there is a live band which rotates on a daily basis playing popular hits.
They also offer a variety of beer choices, whisky, gin, vodka, wine and brandy varieties for guests. The club also caters for food which is served upon prior arrangement.
