With the nearest Polish restaurant being 2,000 km away in Bali, it is surely a good time to try out some Polish food in Penang itself.
Two master chefs from Warsaw, Poland have been specially flown-in to the G Hotel Gurney to showcase their country’s favourite dishes for the dining pleasure of Penangites.
The promotion dubbed “Spirit of Poland ” is brought by chefs are Chef Mariusz Olechno and Chef Marcin Budynek who come with vast experience in the culinary industry.
Their visit here is in a collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Kuala Lumpur represented by Ms Jo Anna Jurczyga, Cultural Affairs & Public Diplomacy Officer.
The celebrity chefs will be showcasing their culinary skills and preparing a delectable array of Polish dishes at Cafe 168 and special Polish snacks at G Spot, available exclusively from this Friday May 17th to 19th, 2024.
Among the dishes include Beef Tartare with egg yolk emulsion, Roast Duck, Beef Stroganoff, Seabass with Polish sauce, Pierogi with cheese, Pierogi with demi-glace meat filling, Chicken liver with apple and onion, Polish Style Cauliflower, Mushrooms with creamy sauce among others.
There are also a host of appetizers, soup and a variety of desserts to complement the dinner experience.
Chef Mariusz Olechno, a culinary enthusiast, educator, and cookbook author, is also a travel enthusiast and avid motorcyclist, with over 20 years of national and international culinary experience, owning the largest sushi bar chain in Poland – KOKU Sushi.
Meanwhile, Chef Marcin Budynek is a highly accomplished culinary arts master from Poznan Culinary Schools, with extensive international experience and training in countries like Spain, Italy, England, Chile, South Africa, and France.
Mentored by Dominique Pootie, former Head Chef for President Francois Mitterrand, Marcin is renowned for his innovative approach to Polish Cuisine, emphasizing fresh, local ingredients. He has hosted popular cooking shows, judged culinary competitions, and served as Head Chef at prestigious hotels. Marcin is also a successful entrepreneur, owning several restaurants and a culinary academy.
Together, they are bringing authentic flavour and traditional recipes that promise to delight the senses and take guests on a gastronomic journey through Poland.
Over at the G Spot, Chef Mariusz and Chef Marcin will be serving up a selection of special Polish snacks, including Turkey Bacon Stuffed with Sheep Cheese, Fried Camembert & Cranberry Jam, and Marinated Beef Tenderloin, to name a few.
These snacks are perfect for guests looking to enjoy a casual dining experience overlooking the seafront promenade.
Prices for the buffet are RM188, RM118 for senior citizens and RM84 for kids for the Polish buffet dinner.
