The Shangri-La Rasa Sayang Penang and Shangri-La Golden Sands Penang have just launched their Thai food promotion.

Dubbed “Experience The Taste of Thailand”, the promotion at Rasa Sayang is on till May 16, 2024. 

Three master Thai chefs have been flown in from their sister property in Bangkok to ensure the authentic flavours of the dishes. 

They are led by Chef Yanavit who comes from the tutelage of renowned Chef Charlie Amatyakul whose parents served in the Thai palace during the reign of King Rama IV.

On hand to launch the promotion was the Thai Consul General in Penang HE Raschada Jiwalai who joined hands to perform the ribbon cutting ceremony along with resort executive assistant manager, Jegan Selvarajan .

They were also accompanied by a troupe of traditional Thai dancers.

It is my pleasure to be here to launch the Thai food promotion.  I also congratulate the Rasa Sayang Penang for hosting this promotion.

“I also welcome the specialist chefs to Penang. Food can bring people together and also enables cultural exchange along with people to people interaction.

“Penang has many Thai restaurants which only shows that Thai food is popular and that people here know Thai food better than me”, quipped Jiwalai”, added Jiwalai. 

He also added that his office in Penang also promotes Thai cuisine and craft to Penang by bringing roadshows 

A Thai cultural dance along with ever favourites dishes like Phad Thai, Mieang Pia Tub Tim, Pomelo Salad with Soft Shell Crab, Tom Yam Goong, Som Tam, Tub Tim Krob, Green Curry and a list o f other international dishes on their buffet counter.
