A community project undertaken by the Seberang Perai police department received overwhelming response recently.
The gathering was held at the Ixora Hotel where some 50 members representing various sectors of the society attended.
On hand to brief the attendees was the chief of the Seberang Perai police station, Inspector Surestaran Kawander Pillai and his team.
Their aim was to share crime prevention tips and techniques to ensure a safe community.
Among the topics he touched on were the prevalence of white collar crime and cyber crime.

“We would like to remind members of the community to report any suspicious calls or approaches from these unscrupulous people,” said Surestaran.
He also reminded participants to share the safety tips with family and friends.
Also present was the general manager of the Ixora Hotel Penang, John MacNeill, hotel manager of Grand Orient Hotel, James Chang and Iconic Hotel general manager, Kevin Cheah.
