This festive season, Sunway Carnival Mall invites shoppers to celebrate Seindah Corak Aidilfitri, a contemporary interpretation of Malay textile heritage, taking place from 27 February to 29 March 2026.
With the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan, Malaysians are gently reminded that the joyous celebration of Hari Raya Aidilfitri is just around the corner.
The mall held its official launch ceremony yesterday in the presence of YB Izhar Shah, state assemblyman for Seberang Jaya, Abdul Hadi Che Man, Tourism Malaysia Northern Region Director who were welcomed by Chai Wen Yew, Senior General Manager of Sunway Carnival Mall.

Inspired by the artistry of songket, tenun, batik and tekat, Seindah Corak Aidilfitri weaves cultural craftsmanship with modern illustration to create an immersive festive landscape that is expressive and meaningful.
Flowing patterns, symbolic motifs and vibrant hues transform the mall environment into a shared Raya experience rooted in culture and connection, inviting shoppers to experience tradition through movement, interaction, and shared celebration. At the heart of the décor lies a circular spatial concept, encouraging shoppers to wander and gather.

Batik-inspired visuals flow seamlessly across the space, reading like a woven narrative of Raya values: strength, sincerity, harmony, community blossoming, care binding and hope guiding.
Together, these elements form a meriah yet intimate experience, echoing the spirit of Raya as something lived and felt, rather than simply observed..
“Hari Raya is about coming home; to our families, our values and the traditions that shape who we are,”. Yew. remarked.
“A Story in Every Motif” is a captivating collaboration between Sunway Malls and Sunway University, presented as part of the Seindah Corak Aidilfitri Raya campaign. Conceived as a research-creation project and led by multi-award-winning Senior Lecturers Delas Santano and Maslisa Zainuddin, the initiative invites shoppers to uncover the rich heritage of traditional Malay textiles through an immersive Augmented Reality (AR) experience. Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 4, 11, and 17), the project brings the hidden poetry behind each motif to life—transforming the festive shopping journey into a meaningful encounter with culture, knowledge, and living heritage.

Adding depth and authenticity to the celebration is the collaboration with renowned batik artisans Tipah Jusoh and Darus Idris, a husband-and-wife duo from Kelantan with over two decades of experience in batik craftsmanship. Drawing from their East Coast heritage, their works blend traditional Kelantanese motifs with contemporary sensibilities, resulting in textiles that are both culturally rich and visually refined. Their artistry brings soul to Seindah Corak Aidilfitri, allowing shoppers at Sunway Carnival Mall to experience batik not just as décor, but as a living art form.
Designed as a multi-sensory experience, the Seindah Corak Aidilfitri invites shoppers to explore the space at their own pace, offering moments for discovery, photo opportunities and subtle surprises across different zones throughout the mall.

Additionally, don’t miss Agro Fiesta Aidilfitri, a special collaboration with the Federal Agricultural Marketing Agency (FAMA). Taking place from 26 February to 20 March 2026 at the Ground Floor, the event features 22 booths offering a wide array of festive goodies, including traditional cookies, local delicacies, festive wear, accessories, and more, ensuring you have everything you need for a perfect Raya celebration.
This Raya, gather with loved ones at Sunway Carnival Mall and be part of a celebration where tradition, creativity, and togetherness are beautifully woven into every moment.
