In the spirit of togetherness and celebration, Queensbay Mall has unveiled its enchanting “Gemersik Syawal” campaign, ushering in the upcoming Hari Raya festivities with vibrant pomp and heartfelt pageantry.
Leading the colourful launch ceremony yesterday was Tourism Malaysia Northern Region Director, Abdul Hadi Che Man, alongside Peter Chan, General Manager of Gurney Plaza, Queensbay Mall and East Coast Mall; Centre Manager of Queensbay Mall, Silvester Soh; and their respective teams.
This year’s décor transports visitors to a charming kampung setting, beautifully adorned with blooming Bunga Raya flowers, swaying coconut trees, rustic bamboo shrubs and traditional oil lamps.
Adding a nostalgic touch are an antique Volkswagen car and a classic Vespa, evoking fond memories of balik kampung journeys. Intricate ketupat ornaments and elegant batik motifs further enhance the festive ambience creating a picture-perfect Raya celebration.
In conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2026, the mall also welcomed the delightful mascots, Wira and Manja, adding a lively and family-friendly element to the celebrations.
“Gemersik Syawal,” which refers to the gentle rustling of bamboo leaves, symbolises a warm and graceful invitation to all to come together and partake in the joyous celebrations of Hari Raya Aidilfitri at the mall.
Continuing its tradition of celebrating local arts and culture, Queensbay Mall collaborates with Universiti Sains Malaysia’s Dewan Budaya to present captivating Zapin dance performances and the traditional Silat Cekak Malaysia.
Students from Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Permai will also take centre stage on selected weekends with delightful cultural dance performances, bringing youthful energy to the festivities.
