In today’s fast-paced world of high work stress and constant digital distractions, the simple act of walking is often overlooked as an essential practice for maintaining mental well-being. Yet, walking remains a powerful and accessible way to improve mental health and reduce stress levels. Perhaps it’s time to put everything aside, step away from the screens, and take a walk with your family and friends.
“Charity Green Parade 2.0” is a fundraising event guided by the “High Five” concept, designed to promote awareness of mental wellness. The parade will be held on 26 April 2026 at Gurney Plaza, Alfresco and aims to raise funds for the Dr. J. Earl Gardener Fund. This fund provides financial assistance to underprivileged patients suffering from chronic illnesses who require major surgeries, such as scoliosis correction, limb amputation, spine surgery and others. At the same time, the event seeks to raise public awareness of the medical welfare services available at our hospital.
The 4km parade will be flagged off at 7am from the Gurney Plaza-Coach. Participants will follow a scenic route passing the Gurney Drive Roundabout and Gurney Bridge, before continuing along Lorong Kelawai and Jalan Kelawai, and finally returning to Gurney Plaza-Alfresco. This event offers a meaningful opportunity to enjoy the outdoor alongside 2,000 participants, while coming together to make a positive impact in our community.
Individuals of all ages are welcomed to register and take part in this meaningful walk with their family and friends. The event will feature a variety of engaging activities, including attractive lucky draws, health screenings, mental health education booth and more. It promises to be a memorable and fulfilling Sunday morning for all. Penang Adventist Hospital sincerely appreciates the community’s support and contributions in ensuring that the Dr. J.
