Some 52 children from Persatuan Anak Yatim Balik Pulau and Wisma Yatim Pulau Pinang (Perempuan) were hosted by the S P Setia Foundation, in collaboration with Amari SPICE Penang.
They shared the joy of Hari Raya Aidilfitri with lots of good food and fun.
The event was dubbed “Riang Ria AidilfitriRaya” open house and held at the Amaya Food Gallery in the S P Setia-owned Amari SPICE Penang recently.
The event was also graced by YB Dato’ Muhammad Bakhtiar Wan Chik, Member of Parliament for Balik Pulau, Penang.
Also present were Datuk Yuslina Mohd Yunus, representing S P Setia’s subsidiary Perumahan Kinrara Berhad, Management Committee of S P Setia Foundation and Executive Vice President of S P Setia, and Adelene Wong, Management Committee of S P Setia Foundation and Head, Group Branding & Communications of S P Setia.
As part of S P Setia Foundation’s corporate social responsibility, this open house event is held in line with its second Trust Object, with the aim to provide assistance in meeting the needs of those Malaysians who are underprivileged, disabled, poverty-stricken or critically ill.
The event also meets the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which are Goal 1 (No Poverty) with the aim to end poverty in all its forms everywhere, and Goal 2 (Zero Hunger) which is about creating a world free of hunger by 2030.
“It is important for us to remember those who need a helping hand, especially during the festive seasons, to provide the assistance we can and give back to the underserved communities. Our aim is to continue engaging with them and help ease their burdens to our ability,” said S P Setia Foundation Management Committee and Head, Group Branding & Communications Wong.
“We are a vibrant brand that celebrates moments of joy through hotel experiences. This Hari Raya we share our love to brighten the world of the underprivileged and less fortunate to put a smile on their faces to celebrate the occasion,” said Noorazzudin Omar, General Manager of Amari SPICE Penang.
In conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri, zakat fund in the form of Raya packets gifted to the children of the orphanages, was contributed by Perumahan Kinrara Berhad, a subsidiary of S P Setia.
“We are glad for the opportunity to contribute to this charitable cause during this season of giving, and it is always a rewarding experience to be able to put a smile on the faces of the children,” said Datuk Yuslina Mohd Yunus who represents Perumahan Kinrara Berhad and is the Management Committee of S P Setia Foundation and Executive Vice President of S P Setia.
