The Penang Women’s Development Corporation (PWDC) hosted a buka puasa get-together with local media members.
The event was held at the Ascott Gurney Penang where some 60 guests gathered.
Guest-of-honour was the State Exco for Social Development, Non-Islamic Religious Affairs, YB Chong Eng who was joined by several board members of the PWDC.
Also present was the chief executive officer of PWDC, Ms Ong Bee Leng and her team.
“This evening is to show our appreciation for media members who have been helping to create awareness on our activities
“We value your contribution and hope you will continue to assist us in highlighting our events and programmes,” said Chong Eng.
The food and beverage team of the hotel put out a fine buffet dinner for guests composed of local favourites.
Guests also took the opportunity to mingle and get to know each other at the gathering.
Meanwhile, PWDC aims to promote awareness and understanding of gender and social justice, to enhance women’s participation in the socio-economic and political life of society and to strengthen women’s leadership and decision making in all sectors of society among others.
