Several schools and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) recently received a boost through the Penang Port Commission’s (PPC) latest corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

As part of its commitment to educational development, PPC donated desktops and laptops to support students’ access to digital learning and help equip them for the demands of the digital age.

The recipients included: Sinar Ceria Care Center, Penang Islam Youth House, Penang Shan Children’s Home, SK Hashim Awang, SJK(C) Mak Mandin, SJK(T) Perai, SK Taman Inderawasih, SMK Tanjong Bungah, SK Seberang Jaya 2 and SMK Mengkuang.

The equipment was officially handed over by PPC chairman Dato Yeoh Soon Hin and his team.

This initiative aligns with PPC’s ongoing support for national education development, with a strong focus on expanding access to digital tools and fostering digital literacy among students and the younger generation.

“We hope this contribution will empower students in their learning journey, support the development of digital skills, and help them stay ahead in an increasingly digital world,” said PPC in a statement.

The programme also complements the government’s broader agenda to accelerate digital transformation in the education sector.

Kudos to PPC for its meaningful role in nurturing the future of education and championing digital inclusion for the next generation.
