The delegation from the Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) is currently touring India to promote Penang as a premier destination for conventions and meetings.
This marks the 9th edition of the Penang Roadshow to India, which commenced in Mumbai at the Courtyard by Marriott. The roadshow opened with a press conference officiated by PCEB Chief Executive Officer, Ashwin Gunasekeran, accompanied by Puan Noriah Jaafar, Director of Tourism Malaysia in Mumbai.
During the session, guests were briefed on the latest developments in Penang and participated in market engagement activities, business matching, and destination promotion initiatives. “India remains one of Penang’s most important and resilient source markets, with strong demand across leisure travel, business events, and incentive travel,” shared Ashwin.

The event continued with a B2B session featuring meaningful exchanges, productive discussions, and the sharing of contacts with key industry stakeholders. These interactions have laid a strong foundation for potential collaborations, and PCEB looks forward to building on this momentum as the roadshow progresses to upcoming cities.
In the evening, a networking dinner was held in conjunction with the roadshow. The event was supported by His Excellency Ahmad Zuwairi Yusoff, Consul General of Malaysia in Mumbai; Mr. T. Ediwanto T. Eddie, Deputy Director of Tourism Malaysia Mumbai; and Ms. Siti Sarah, Head of Sales & Marketing of PCEB.
PCEB also delivered a destination presentation to buyers, highlighting Penang’s strengths and opportunities as a business events destination, while fostering meaningful networking and engagement with the Indian market throughout the gathering.
