Seven Skulls, George Town

Don’t let the name Seven Skulls fool you, as the bar does not represent any skeletons it might have in its closet. The name was simply picked so that you would stop to look and maybe have a drink or two, in an un-noisy setting that is untypical of a bar.

So much so to pique your interest, the owner has come up with a contest asking patrons to guess what “seven skulls” meant.

If you uncovered the mystery to the name, you might be rewarded, says owner with a unique name himself, Kishz Vin. “I’ll reveal all when the contest ends,” says the man with a cheeky grin.

The Seven Skulls envisions itself as a watering hole where you could scream goal! watching your favourite matches, but also provide spaces for people who would like a pint and a serious chat.

It is also very VIP friendly, with private quarters just for you to skip all that noise or just to party hard with 12 other people in privacy when you spend a minimum of RM1,500.

Owner Kishz says the ambience of his place is beyond that of a jarring, noisy, bassy bar that you are used to. “It is not too loud or noisy. It is a place where you can network,” he says.

Their food offering, including beer/whiskey side food, is also quite amazing.

“We differ from other nightspots by being a classy and elegant look but a price to match. We offer a classy setting at normal rates.

“We bring several single malt whiskies in the likes of Macallan 12 Years Double Cask and Glenfidich,” added Kishz.

No skulls here, though

Currently, they offer promotions like the buy three pints of lager for RM55 and the Buy 2 get 1 Free promo.

They also hold other gatherings like the bankers nights on Mondays, Ladies nights on Wednesdays and entrepreneurs/businessmen night on Thursdays with discounts.

“Other highlights include the most expensive shot in Penang or even the whole country, at RM777 for the The “Royal Skull”.

“There is also an event space upstairs to rent which can fit up to 100-150 pax depending on the setting for team building, seminars and seminars.
