The Malaysia Budget & Business Hotel Association (MyBHA) Penang Chapter held its 20th anniversary dinner at the Ascott Gurney Penang last night.
State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy YB Wong Hon Wai was the guest of honour. He was welcomed by Penang MyBHA chairman Andy Lau and national president Dr Sri Ganesh Michiel.
In his address, Wong congratulated MyBHA for achieving the impressive milestone – two decades of dedication, progress and unity in supporting Malaysia’s budget and business hotel sector.

“MyBHA has worked tirelessly to keep the association active, united and forward-thinking. Thank you for representing the voice of the industry so effectively, with both policymakers and the wider tourism ecosystem. We value your partnership,and we are committed to growing this sector together,” added Wong.
He also shared that budget and business categories are essential to providing the range and accessibility needed to welcome both international delegates anddomestic tourists.
The evening was filled with fellowship and camaraderie while being entertained by a live band followed by a lucky draw.

Others present were MAH vice president Dato Khoo Boo Lim, Penang MAH chairman Dato Tony Goh, MAH Kedah/Perlis chairman Eugene Dass, Penang Island City Council Mayor Dato A. Rajendran, Penang MOTAC director Dr Annuar Mohamed, Tourism Malaysia Northern Region director Adbul Hadi Che Man, Penang Global Tourism CEO Ooi Chok Yan among others.
