The Marriott International brand is fast expanding its footprint in a big way in Penang.
This is following the signing ceremony between Marriott International and popular local property developer, Ideal Property Group.
The Penang-based developer has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Marriott International to set-up the new Penang Marriott Hotel Queens Waterfront and Marriott Residences Queens Waterfront Penang.
Present to witness the ceremony was Penang Chief Minister YAB Chow Kon Yeow.
Representing the Ideal Property Group was its founder, Tan Sri Datuk Alex Ooi.
The new 5-star hotel to be located in Bayan Lepas will offer 262-rooms and feature top notch rooms, suites and other facilities for guests.

The Marriott Residences Queens Waterfront Penang will offer 228 units. They are slated to open by 2029.
Meanwhile, Chow congratulated Marriott International and Ideal Property Group for the remarkable collaboration.
Presently, Marriott International has two other properties in Georgetown, namely the Courtyard by Marriott Penang and the Penang Marriott Hotel along Gurney Drive.
