Board members of the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) paid a courtesy call on the Langkawi Tourism Academy @ Kolej Komunity Langkawi (LTA) earlier this evening.
They were on the paradise island to hold their “Out of Town” meeting of MAH at the Aloft Langkawi Pantai Tengah from August 16-18, 2023..
Leading the team was president Datin Christina Toh accompanied by Vice-Presidents, CS Lim, Dato Khoo Boo Lim and Ms Shirley Lai.
The team was greeted by LTA director, Pn Haslinda Abd Hamid and Langkawi ADO, Zulkifli Abdullah.
“We are happy to meet the board of directors of MAH and thank MAH for accepting the invitation.
“We are always happy to meet leaders of the community and today we have support from the whole hospitality industry.
“Our aim is to produce quality manpower for the industry as such our courses must be relevant for the industry.
“We hope our acquaintance today will lead to mutual benefit,” she added.
Meanwhile, Toh thanked LTA to welcome her board and other state chiefs for the visit.
“Education is vital for the growth of a nation. As such, we appreciate LTA’s role to produce more trained workers.
“We hope that English courses are also added in their courses. MAH hopes to further collaborate with LTA for mutual benefit,” she said.
LTA has some 40 teaching staff and 20 supporting staff.
They offer four full time certificate courses and one diploma programme. They also offer short courses for the community and agencies.
Other topics of discussion were on how to further cooperation and collaboration to promote the tourism industry.
