In the spirit of togetherness and renewal that accompanies the arrival of Chinese New Year, several Lions Club chapters came together to spread joy and goodwill at a special lunch gathering for the residents of the Silver Jubilee Home.

This meaningful initiative saw an impressive collaboration of 19 Lions Clubs from Penang and Kedah, united by a shared commitment to service and compassion.

Leading the project was the Penang Host Lions Club, spearheaded by Lion Teh Wee Wen and supported by club president Lion Teoh Shaw Jhee, whose leadership and dedication brought the celebration to life.

Adding colour and cheer to the occasion were lively dance performances by children, symbolically ushering in the Year of the Horse with energy, hope, and festive cheer.

In keeping with Chinese New Year traditions, ang pow packets were lovingly distributed to the residents, accompanied by a sumptuous lunch enjoyed by all.

Generous sponsors also contributed to the celebrations, providing T-shirts and thoughtfully prepared goody bags, which were shared among the residents to further brighten the day.

The Silver Jubilee Home is home to 190 residents, who are cared for by a devoted team of 37 caretakers.

For the Lions Club members, this annual Chinese New Year outreach has become a cherished tradition, carried out faithfully over the past 10 years as a way of giving back and ensuring that the festive season is filled with warmth, dignity and joy for everyone.
