The Buddhist Tzu Chi Merits Society Malaysia again demonstrated its caring side when they donated much needed supplies to the Kek Lok Si Charitable Medical Centre.

Among the equipment were 5,000 isolation gowns, 10,000 face masks, 200 pieces of face shields, 500 pieces of N95 masks and another 500 pieces of KN95 masks.

On hand was Tzu Chi commissioner, Dato Khoo Boo Leong and his able team.

“We hope that the various items will go to help the needy and the underprivileged among the community especially during the pandemic,” said Khoo.

The charitable centre is Penang’s first Buddhist non-profit hospital.

The board member and medical superintendent, Datuk Dr Teng Hock said that the fees imposed at the hospital would be the lowest among other charitable hospitals in the state.

They cater for all Malaysians, especially the needy.

The hospital is a 50-bedded specialist hospital with resident consultants for internal medicine, general surgery, orthopaedic, trauma and joint reconstruction, anaesthesiology, geriatric medicine, radiology and otorhinolaryngology (ear, nose and throat).
