A guest trying her hand in making Negroni
Italian mixologist Mattia Coppo was at the Eastern & Oriental Hotel to showcase his version of Negroni and Spritz cocktails.
What is more interesting is that Mattia had read about Malaysia during his university days in his younger days and was finally able to make his visit here.
“Since I graduated in literature, I had read about the British being here, the tigers in the forest and other adventures.
“I was really looking forward to this trip and hope to take in the sights and scenery here. The people are very friendly and the food is great,” he added.
.At the workshop, he presented his take on the Negroni and the Spritz cocktails with the base ingredients from Italy.
His mantra in making great cocktails is to “keep it simple as the quality products and their ingredients have it all”.
Later, several guests also had a chance to mix their own cocktail drinks.
While here, Mattia will also travel to Kuala Lumpur and Langkawi to share his skills and stories.
He had also worked in New York and London in his early days where he picked up his English well. He also works with Italian spirits brands such as Luxardo, Gajardo and Nardini.
His trip here was made possible by Aureal Asia Sdn Bhd.
