The culinary scene in Georgetown is getting more diverse with the opening of Kandy, a Sri Lankan speciality restaurant in Little India here.

Thanks to co-owner Sam Perera, who hails from Sri Lanka, they offer authentic home-cooked dishes like Kandy special fried rice, Lamp rice, Elumas mutton curry, Kukulmas chicken curry, Isso prawn curry, Kakuluvo crab curry, Deviled calamari and more.

Making time to officiate the new eatery was Pengkalan Kota assemblyman Daniel Gooi accompanied by Sam and his associates.

The interior deco of the diner depicts the sights and scenery of the picturesque Sri Lankan countryside of hills, mountains and its vibrant culture. They also offer live music for the listening pleasure of guests.

For those who are into spicy food, do check out their piping hot sambal which will hit the right notes on your tongue.
