The International Advertising Association (IAA) World Congress welcoming dinner was held at the Hin Bus Depot where some 100 guests gathered.
Dr John Chacko, organising chairman and president of IAA Malaysia were on hand to receive guests. Also present was PCEB chief executive officer Ashwin Gunasekeran and his team.
After a welcoming speech by Chacko and Ashwin, guests mingled and enjoyed a fine menu of local dishes.
They were also entertained by a two-piece band with golden oldies and upbeat numbers.
The Governor of Penang Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak will officiate the 45th International Advertising Association (IAA) World Congress.
The congress will be held from March 6 to 8, 2022 at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre here.
More significantly, this is the first time that a Southeast Asian nation is hosting a world-class event.
Previously, the IAA World Congress had been held in major cities like Beijing, Paris, Tokyo, London, Mexico and New York,
A diverse crowd of 1,000 attendees across the globe are expected to attend the congress. The industry giants include Google, Meta, WARC, ANA, Lions and SEEHER while media partners include BBC and Media Prima.
