Popular shopping mall Gurney Plaza officially launched its Durian-la Festival at the mall’s amphitheatre, promising a fun-filled outing for families and durian lovers alike.

Running daily until June 21 from 3pm to 10pm, the festival offers a lively line-up of family-friendly activities, including live band performances, face-painting workshops for children and clown balloon giveaways.

Visitors can also savour some of Malaysia’s most sought-after durian varieties, including Black Thorn and Musang King.

Present at the launch were Tourism Malaysia Northern Region Director Abdul Hadi Che Man and Gurney Plaza Associate Director of Marketing Communications Ms Renee Aw.

Families can look forward to a hive of activities over the coming days, with vendors showcasing an exciting mix of food, lifestyle and fruit-inspired experiences at the marketplace.

Organised in collaboration with Greentopia Market, the festival caters to visitors of all ages while celebrating Malaysia’s rich agricultural heritage. A major attraction is the giant Durian-la inflatable installation facing Kelawei Road, providing the perfect backdrop for family photos.

Visitors can also participate in the Snap & Redeem activity by taking a photo with the giant inflatable and sharing it on social media to redeem an exclusive Durian-la hand fan.

Meanwhile, CapitaPlus members and tourists can enjoy a 15 per cent discount on à la carte durians by presenting their CapitaPlus member profile or hotel room key from participating hotels.

With plenty of activities, photo opportunities and durian treats on offer, the Durian-la Festival makes for an enjoyable family day out.
