
The Gurney Paragon Mall here officially launched its Chinese New Year celebrations with a vibrant ceremony themed “Blooming Abundance”, held at the mall’s main atrium.
The festive event marked the start of the mall’s celebrations as it welcomed the auspicious Year of the Horse, symbolising energy, progress and prosperity.
The ceremony was graced by YB Daniel Gooi, State Exco for Youth, Sports and Health, as the guest of honour. He was accompanied by Tourism Malaysia Northern Region Director, Abdul Hadi Che Man, reflecting the event’s significance to both the local community and the tourism sector.
Also in attendance were Dato’ Khor Siang Gin, Managing Director of Hunza Group; Ms Khor Tze Ming, Executive Director of Hunza Group; Ms Koay Bee Fong, Chief Operating Officer of Gurney Paragon Mall; Han Yi Ming, Operations Manager of Luk Fook Jewellery, Gurney Paragon Mall, along with other invited guests and partners.

In his address, Gooi applauded Gurney Paragon Mall for playing a positive and corporate role in the community.
Guests were treated to a spectacular lion dance performance, its rhythmic drums and energetic movements filling the atrium with festive cheer, before a series of welcoming speeches by the dignitaries.
In line with its commitment to corporate social responsibility, Gurney Paragon Mall also presented cancer onboarding kits in support of the Childhood Cancer Caregiver Organisation (CRISO). The organisation was represented by its president, Ms Wendy Wong, who received the contribution on behalf of the caregivers and children.
The highlight of the ceremony saw VIP guests coming together to perform the gong-beating ceremony, officially signalling the start of the Chinese New Year festivities and ushering in the Year of the Horse.

Adding to the festive excitement, Gurney Paragon Mall has lined up a series of Chinese New Year promotions and activities, offering attractive rewards and experiences for both locals and tourists throughout the celebratory season.
VIP guests also posed for a group photo to mark the significance of the occasion.
