Grab Malaysia held its “Sembang Tech Tarik” session to update on its latest developments and updates in the industry.
Present was Ben Chin, Director, Country Strategy & Outer Cities and his team members at the Prestige Hotel here.
Also present were several Grab riders, drivers, merchants and media members. Prior to this, similar roadshows were held in Terengganu, Johor Bahru and Sarawak.
Chin shared that Grab has enabled earning opportunities for over 70,000 local driver-partners in Penang, including more than 350 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and over 2,000 women partners.
“These partners collectively earned over RM280 million on the platform in 2023. The platform also features over 25 Michelin-rated merchants, enhancing its food delivery offerings”, he added.
Other than Malaysia, Grab also operates in several Southeast Asian countries like Indonesia, Cambodia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam too.
Chin also added that they are also planning new and AI driven features on their Superapp soon which will go even further to empower people in each and every country they operate.
Among its services include ride-hailing to connect riders with drivers, food delivery, digital payments, parcel delivery, online purchases among others.
The app, although founded in Malaysia in 2012, is headquartered in Singapore.
