It was a down memory lane to reminisce old and good times for former staff members of the United Asian Bank Berhad from the Northern Region when they had a dinner gathering at the Bayview Hotel Georgetown.
Guests had travelled from far and near to catch up with old friends and office colleagues.
Some 100 ex-staff members had travelled from Australia, Lumpur, Ipoh and Johor.
Over the years, many had retired, moved on to other vocations while some even had passed on.
At the start of the ceremony, they observed a minute’s silence as a mark of respect.
The get-together was organised by committee members led by Dato Ashok Kumar Poduval.
In his address Ashok thanked all those who had taken time and effort to attend the gathering.
“I also thank the organising committee members for the good job well done I call on all present to mingle and catch up with old colleagues and friends,” said Ashok
Meanwhile, the oldest attendee was 84-year-old Durai who still found the energy to come meet up with his old mates.
Australian couple John Bickerstaff and wife Thilla travelled from Sydney, Australia to make it to the gathering.
Thilla was excited to meet up with her former colleagues and posed for pictures.
They will also travel to Kuala Lumpur to attend a wedding next week before flying home.
The evening also saw song and dance performances and a lucky draw session.
