The High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Malaysia Md Golam Sarwar made a courtesy call on Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow recently.

Bangladesh is an important partner in this region as it is a fast growing economy.

Also present was the honorary consul of Bangladesh Datuk Shaik Ismail Allaudin and Bangladesh High Commission counsellor Md Rajibul Ahsan.

Among the topics of discussion was the exchange of talents and growing the economy of both countries.

“We are always open to partnering with Bangladesh in areas such as information technology and engineering would be the two most immediate and relevant fields,” said Chow.

Golam added that in recent years, his country has improved tremendously in many sectors and has been able to sustain a gross domestic product (GDP) of 6 per cent.
