As guests enjoyed the flavours of Penang, they were entertained by a live band and DJ Jay from Kuala Lumpur, adding rhythm and energy to the vibrant atmosphere.
The evening was graced by YB Wong Hon Wai, Penang State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy, who was joined by Ashwin Gunasekeran, CEO of the Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB), along with the PCEB team.
In his address, Wong expressed his appreciation to the international delegates and stakeholders for making the event a success.

“Over the past three days, you have not only explored opportunities but also experienced what makes Penang more than just a destination,” he said.
“I hope you’ve felt the warmth and hospitality of our people, which reflects the true spirit of Penang. PITE is more than just a platform for exchange – it is a catalyst that positively impacts our local communities, opens doors for businesses, and showcases the best of what Penang has to offer.”
He reaffirmed Penang’s commitment to its Penang2030 vision of becoming a family-focused, green, and smart state.

“Your presence here reinforces our position in the global tourism and events industry. As we close this year’s chapter, may the connections formed here continue to grow and shape the future of our industries.”
Meanwhile, Ashwin also welcomed delegates to the final night of PITE 2025, emphasizing the significance of Fort Cornwallis – Malaysia’s largest standing fort, built in the late 18th century by Captain Francis Light.
“These past three days have been an incredible journey of discovery, connection, and collaboration,” said Ashwin.

“At PCEB, we believe in the power of partnership – and this event has been a true testament to what we can accomplish when we come together with a shared vision.”
Lending support was representatives from Penang’s hospitality industry, including hotels and resorts, further strengthening the collaborative spirit of the event.
