Rakyat Management Services (RMS) Sdn. Bhd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Bank Rakyat, hosted the Ar-Rahnu X’Change 2025 Awards Ceremony to recognise the performance and achievements of the Ar-Rahnu X’Change franchise network throughout 2025.
In all, some 250 staff and guests attended the gala dinner at the G Hotel here.
Last year the ceremony was held in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. The participants were from the various states in the country.
Present was Datuk Mohd Irwan Mohd Mubarak, Chairman of Bank Rakyat, Mohd Jafri Kudus, Chairman of RMS, and Ahmad Shahril Mohd Shariff, Group Chief Executive Officer of Bank Rakyat and a member of the RMS Board of Directors.
Mohd Irwan said the Ar-Rahnu X’Change franchise business model is one of Bank Rakyat’s programmes that has successfully fulfilled its mandate to develop the cooperative sector by sharing its experience and expertise in Ar-Rahnu business operations since 1993.
“The performance recorded throughout 2025, with financing disbursements amounting to RM5.1 billion, reflects the consistent demand for Islamic pawnbroking products. Therefore, this represents a business opportunity that cooperatives should consider venturing into,” he said.
He also emphasised the need for cooperatives to achieve optimal success in ensuring the socioeconomic well-being of their members while remaining relevant in an increasingly competitive market.
“The success of a cooperative should not be measured solely by its profits, but also by the positive impact it brings to the community,” Mohd Irwan added.

Meanwhile, Jafri Kudus expressed optimism that Ar-Rahnu X’Change will continue to remain competitive as a preferred brand in the market.
“Ar-Rahnu X’Change recorded positive performance in the third quarter of 2026. As of August 2026, cumulative financing disbursements stood at RM2.66 billion, while the total outstanding financing balance reached RM2.17 billion,” he said.
Commenting on current developments, Mohd Jafri said that five new Ar-Rahnu X’Change outlets will commence operations in Bandar Country Homes, Selangor; Tawau and Semporna, Sabah; Bukit Baru, Melaka; and Gua Musang, Kelantan.
During the ceremony, RMS also launched MyARX, a mobile application designed to provide customers with faster, easier and more secure access to Ar-Rahnu services. According to him, RMS is now prioritising innovation and digitalisation initiatives to meet the evolving needs and demands of the industry.
“Following the successful implementation of ‘e-Bayar’, an online payment system, Ar-Rahnu X’Change has also achieved an important milestone by becoming the first Ar-Rahnu operator in Malaysia to implement paperless transactions through the ‘e-Paper’ initiative since March last year,” he added.

Meanwhile, Mohd Irwan said Bank Rakyat will continue to play its role in supporting the Ar-Rahnu X’Change franchise business, particularly in terms of business development, such as enhancing the business model and providing facility support to meet the needs of cooperatives.
A lucky draw session also offered a variety of prizes like electronic items, cash prizes, hotel vouchers and even gold wafers.
