IJM Land Berhad, the developer behind the landmark THE LIGHT Waterfront Penang, today unveiled its latest high-rise project, Merione Residences, further strengthening its vision for an integrated waterfront city on Penang Island.
Located within THE LIGHT Waterfront Penang, Merione Residences is conceived as a landmark vertical address that brings together retail, boutique offices, shop/office spaces and luxury residences within a single integrated development.
Leading the launch was IJM Land Berhad Chief Executive Officer Dato Tony Ling Thou Lung, together with members of the company’s senior management team, including Dato’ Ir Khoo Teck Chong, Senior General Manager, Northern Region, IJM Land Berhad and Ms Goh Su Yin, General Manager, Northern Region, IJM Land Berhad.

After the formal presentations and formalities, VIP guests joined hands to perform the ribbon cutting ceremony with the background of lion dancers and the clash of traditional drums.
Meanwhile, the development comprises Merione Grand and Merione Residences, with the commercial component occupying the lower floors and the residential component located above. The commercial units at Merione Grand have already been sold out.
They feature retail units, shop/office spaces and business suites, catering to retailers, entrepreneurs, professionals and businesses seeking a location within an established waterfront development.
Merione Residences offers a collection of 145 semi-furnished luxury condominium units.
According to IJM Land, the development includes 32 retail units on Levels 1 and 2, while Levels 3 to 6 comprise 72 shop/office units. The upper commercial floors feature business suites designed with private balconies and dedicated parking spaces.
The residences come with dedicated parking bays and access to exclusive lifestyle facilities, providing residents with a private living environment within a highly connected urban setting.
One of Merione’s key attractions is its integration with the wider THE LIGHT Waterfront Penang ecosystem.
