
By V. SivajiBen’s Independent Grocer (B.I.G.) will open its first outlet in Penang and the Northern Region at the Island 88 in Tanjong Tokong here.
The official opening will be held by November 2026.
Present to sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony was Philip Law, Managing Director of Island 88 along with Ivan Tan, Group Executive Director of TFP Retail Sdn Bhd.
On hand to witness the signing ceremony was YB Goh Choon Aik State Exco for Agrotechnology, Food Security and Cooperative Development.
B.I.G. is renowned for its “Eat, Drink and Shop” philosophy and has been delighting food lovers since its establishment in 2011.
Customers can look forward to an immersive shopping experience through B.I.G.’s specialized themed sections, including Barn Butchery, Bay Seafood, B.Organic and Malaya Kitchen, alongside an extensive range of quality products tailored to discerning food enthusiasts.

The B.I.G. outlet will occupy the Lower Ground Floor of Island 88, around 29,558 sq ft and is designed to offer a comprehensive grocery lifestyle experience, including premium product sections, fresh food counters and engaging community spaces.
Also present at the ceremony was Dato Khoo Boo Lim and Ms Cheong Sook Yeng, Compleks Manager of Island 88 among others.
