The Andaman Island in Penang continues to evolve into one of Penang’s most exciting waterfront destinations, with plans for a new private hospital set to further enhance the island’s growing lifestyle ecosystem.
The upcoming healthcare facility, with an estimated development value of RM350 million, will be developed through a collaboration between Eastern & Oriental Berhad (E&O Berhad), Cengild Medical Bhd and Skyspring Sdn Bhd.
Designed to be built in two phases, the hospital will ultimately accommodate up to 240 beds, bringing quality private healthcare closer to residents, businesses and visitors on the island. The development reflects Andaman Island’s vision of creating a well-rounded, future-ready community where healthcare, recreation, nature and urban living come together seamlessly.
Known for its expertise in gastroenterology, hepatology and gastrointestinal surgery, Cengild Medical Bhd will bring specialised medical services to the island, strengthening Penang’s reputation as a regional healthcare destination.
Beyond healthcare access, the new hospital will contribute to the convenience and liveability of Andaman Island, complementing its waterfront parks, retail offerings, educational facilities and residential neighbourhoods. As the island continues to mature, residents can look forward to a more comprehensive lifestyle environment that prioritises wellness, accessibility and peace of mind.
Expected to be completed by 2029, the hospital marks another significant milestone in Andaman Island’s transformation into a vibrant and sustainable coastal community where everyday living is supported by world-class amenities and essential services.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that an international standard hotel is also expected to be developed on the island as part of the township’s 30-year master plan.
