
Marriott International, in collaboration with the Marriott Worldwide Business Council Malaysia and supported by the Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau, successfully hosted the inaugural Marriott International Malaysia, Penang Charity Golf Day at the Penang Golf Club.
A fine dinner gathering was also held at the Iconic Marjorie later in the evening.
The event marked its first edition in the Northern Region, bringing together hospitality leaders, corporate partners, and golf enthusiasts for a meaningful day of sport, networking, and community impact.
At the dinner session, guests enjoyed an international buffet, live entertainment, prize presentations, and a silent auction in support of charitable causes.
Among the holiday destinations on offer were Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel & Convention Centre, The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa, Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur, Courtyard By Marriott KL, South, Aloff Langkawi Pantai Tengah, Le Meridien Putrajaya, Sheraton Kota Kinabalu, Sheraton Petaling Jaya, Renaissance Johr Bahru, among other locations.

The event was honoured by the presence of YB Jagdeep Singh Deo, Penang Deputy Chief Minister II, George Varughese, Market Vice President of Marriott International Malaysia, Harry Chai, Director of Penang State Sports Council, Gulab Mahatam Rai, Organising Chairman of the event, Michael Farag, Multi-Property General Manager of Penang Marriott Hotel, Ms. Yvonne Wan, General Manager of Courtyard by Marriott Penang, alongside sponsors and partners.
In his address, Jagdeep also pledged a donation of RM10,000 towards the good cause.

Proceeds from the event will benefit UNICEF and Pertubuhan Rumah Kebajikan Seri Cahaya Pulau Pinang, supporting initiatives including children’s welfare, medical assistance, elderly care, and food aid.
As part of the evening’s highlight, a symbolic donation of RM30,000 was officially handed over to Pertubuhan Rumah Kebajikan Seri Cahaya Pulau Pinang, further reinforcing the event’s commitment to directly supporting local community needs.
Aligned with Serve 360, the initiative reinforces Marriott International’s ongoing commitment to responsible business and community engagement across Malaysia.
The success of the inaugural event sets a strong foundation for future editions, further strengthening Penang’s position as a leading destination for tourism and business events while highlighting the power of hospitality in driving meaningful impact.
